The Top Gun star is collaborating with Doug Liman on a new project.

Tom Cruise has repeatedly demonstrated that he enjoys taking risks in his performances, which is why he rarely uses a stunt double.

When asked why he doesn’t use a stuntman recently at the Cannes Film Festival, he said, “No one ever questioned Gene Kelly, ‘Why do you dance?'”

We’ve seen him fly a plane in ‘Top Gun,’ and climb off of a skyscraper in ‘Mission Impossible,’ proving he’s fearless.

At 60, he’s willing to take on any task, as seen by the re-release of ‘Top Gun: Maverick,’ the second instalment.

Filming in space

According to media sources, director Doug Liman, creator of ‘The Bourne Identity,’ wants to develop an outer space film.

Liman had previously presented the proposal in 2020, but the epidemic put a halt to his ambitions.

According to reports, the director and Cruise have discussed the actor taking a rocket to the International Space Station with Universal Filmed Entertainment Group (UFEG).

According to BBC News, UFEG president Donna Langley stated, “I think Cruise is pushing us into space, he’s taking the globe into space.”

“That is the strategy. We’re working on a large project with Tom…. To launch a rocket to the International Space Station and shoot.”

Langley indicated that practically the entire film would be shot on Earth, but he hopes that the actor will be “the first guy to conduct a spacewalk outside the space station.”

If this happens, Cruise will be the first actor to shoot in space.
